A mercenary by trade, Silas has connections back to Africa (modern day Kenya). How the sword-for-hire got to Europe is uncertain, however, he has professional fighting experience with both Giovanni Salzano and Gray Beard as a mercenary before the Valiant Few and he has also shared the experience (as did Salzano) of being under the influence of the Medallion of Secrets.
